Maria received her B.A. in Classics from the College of the Holy Cross in Worchester, Massachusetts and thereafter attended law school at the University of Miami where she graduated cum laude in 1999. While in law school, Maria was the Community Outreach Chairperson for Miami Law Women, and she was an editor for the law school newspaper, Res Ipsa Loquitur. Maria is a Board Certified Trial attorney by the Florida Bar. Her practice focuses in the areas of personal injury and insurance defense litigation, including construction litigation, premises liability, auto liability, products liability, legal malpractice, wrongful death litigation, indemnification, subrogation claims, first party insurance claims, and medical malpractice. She has successfully obtained numerous defense verdicts for her clients during her almost twenty years of practice and is well respected within the legal community as a trial lawyer. Mark Filburn is the President of Whitestone Construction Group LLC. His responsibilities include the management of daily operating activities and legal affairs and executing policies to align the company's goals for growth. He has 28 years of experience in construction law and the construction industry. Mr. Filburn was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1990. He was also admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of Florida, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States Court of International Trade, the United States Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. Mark is a member of the American, Florida, and Orange County Bar Associations. He also served as a board member for the Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority, MetroPlan Orlando, and the Board of Visitors for Lake Highland Preparatory School.. He is a member of the Board of Visitors for the Wake Forest University School of Law. Mr. Filburn earned his Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Mark and his family live in Winter Park, Florida.

Mark A. Sessums is the founding partner of the firm. Mark was born and raised in Tampa, FL and is a 5th generation Floridian. He is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. A graduate of the University of Florida, he received his B.A. in 1982 and his J.D. cum laude in 1989.
