Javier A. Finlay is a litigator with extensive experience in defending cases involving claims of premises liability, automobile liability, and workers’ compensation. His many years of practice include representation of national and international corporations, as well as local businesses. He has lectured on trending topics regarding workers compensation matters, and he currently advises his corporate clients when engaging in contractual negotiations with vendors including, but not limited to, indemnification and defense provisions. Born and raised in Tampa, Jody graduated from Jesuit High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida in 1998 and his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law in 2001. He defends matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, trucking and automobile accident liability, premises liability, and medical malpractice. Jody is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Florida and all state and federal Courts within the State of Florida and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Jody is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Florida Bar and is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Florida Defense Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute. Jody has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer by Florida Super Lawyers magazine in the area of personal injury and has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for Personal Injury Litigation.
