Personal Injury Law

172 East 161st Street, Bronx, NY 10451

Michael Braverman is a Bronx attorney with Getz & Braverman, based at 172 East 161st Street. Personal injury, criminal defense and police brutality are the three areas he names in describing his practice. His earlier work was on the prosecution side, as an assistant district attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office. Registered in New York as Michael Ira Braverman, he was admitted in 1991; his attorney record lists New York Law School. A suspension forms part of his professional history. On March 3, 2020, the Appellate Division, First Department, reinstated him as an attorney in New York, effective that day. His state registration now shows “Currently registered.” Getz & Braverman’s injury practice serves clients in the Bronx and elsewhere in New York City, including Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. The firm’s published case categories range from traffic injuries to accidents involving unsafe property. Among the specific examples are pedestrian and public transit accidents, ceiling collapses, and slips and falls. Its construction-accident work includes scaffolding and ladder accidents. These are descriptions of the firm’s services, rather than a list of every type of case Braverman personally handles. False arrest and excessive force by law enforcement also appear on the firm’s injury page. In describing compensation sought for injury clients, the firm includes medical expenses, lost earnings and long-term care, as well as pain and suffering.
