Kurt Smith is the founder of Smith Legal Group. His practice focuses almost exclusively on Family Law, although he also has experience in commercial litigation, personal injury, insurance law, corporate law, criminal law, estate planning, and bankruptcy. Mr. Smith holds a Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Mr. Smith also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management Information Systems. Prior to forming Smith Legal Group, Mr. Smith was an associate at a prominent national firm, focusing on civil litigation and insurance law. In addition, Mr. Smith worked as a Project Manager for IBM in its Global Services Division. In this role, Mr. Smith managed information security projects for Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Smith also played an integral role in IBM’s globalization projects and assisted in the deployment of technology solutions in Argentina, Brazil, France, Scotland, and India. Mr. Smith also spent several years working in the insurance industry as an insurance adjuster during which he specialized in on-scene accident investigations and accident reconstruction. Mr. Smith is admitted to practice before the State and Federal Courts of Nevada. He is a member of the American Bar Association and Clark County Bar Association.

Prior to law school, Lindsay worked for the Founder of eBay, as well as the former Governor of Nevada, the late Kenny Guinn. Lindsay earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Golden Gate University, School of Law in San Francisco, California. After passing the California Bar, Lindsay moved to Nevada with her husband Paul. While studying for Nevada’s Bar exam, she took a position with a plaintiff personal injury law firm and found her passion in helping others. Lindsay has dedicated her law practice to representing those who have experienced injury or loss as a result of the carelessness of others. Lora focuses her practice primarily on insurance defense litigation, managing cases involving motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip and falls, wrongful death, product liability, medical/dental malpractice, employment law and workers’ compensation, insurance coverage, and bad faith. She is a former prosecutor for the City of Las Vegas and has acted as a judge pro tempore for Henderson Municipal Court since October 2011. Lora volunteers as a judge for moot court competitions at the undergraduate level. Lora began working in Boston insurance defense firms in 1986 as a paralegal. After law school, she became a prosecutor where she enhanced her understanding of evidentiary rules and trial procedure. Prior to joining Messner Reeves LLP, Lora was a managing attorney handling not only all aspects of her law practice and day-to-day case management but also administrative and business matters of the firm.
