About Knox

Knox Fitzpatrick is a Dallas criminal defense attorney whose work includes state and federal cases. Executives, educators, healthcare workers and securities industry professionals are among those he has represented against white collar allegations. That work has covered fraud and embezzlement as well as insider trading and tax offenses. His federal defense practice also includes drug charges, and his website describes drug representations ranging from possession to large-scale trafficking allegations.

Fitzpatrick moved into private practice in 1994, following 16 years of public service. He spent approximately 12 of those years prosecuting cases in the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office. As supervising chief felony prosecutor, he served under Henry Wade and then John Vance. He also held two positions in the Texas Governor’s Office: general counsel to the governor and executive director of the Criminal Justice Division.

His undergraduate degree was in journalism, from the University of Texas at Austin. He later earned his law degree at the University of Texas School of Law in 1978. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization has certified him in criminal law. He is admitted to the federal district courts for both the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.

The State Bar of Texas lists Fitzpatrick as eligible to practice, with criminal law as his practice area and Dallas as his primary practice location.
