Bruce Schonberg

Bruce A. Schonberg practices personal injury law in Central Valley, New York, and serves as a local judge in Woodbury and Harriman. At Schonberg Law Offices of the Hudson Valley, P.C., he is the principal attorney, a position his employment history dates to 2004. His private practice now represents injured people, including those hurt in car accidents.

Prosecution preceded his work in civil litigation. From 1985 to 1990, Schonberg was a senior assistant district attorney in Orange County, prosecuting both felonies and misdemeanors. He then joined Grogan, Souto & Schonberg in Goshen as a partner and trial attorney in personal injury defense, remaining there until 1998. Allstate, Nationwide and State Farm were among the insurers he represented in New York. A partnership at Baracco & Schonberg in Highland followed, with personal injury trial work from 1998 to 2004.

Schonberg earned a political science bachelor’s degree at the State University of New York at Oneonta in 1980 and a J.D. at the University of Buffalo School of Law and Jurisprudence in 1984. His biography lists New York bar admission in 1985 and New Jersey admission in 2020.

His judicial duties include Tuesday evening sessions in Woodbury: traffic matters most weeks and criminal matters on the second Tuesday of the month. In Harriman, he is the village justice; David V. Hasin is the acting justice.
