Brian Elbaum

Brian J. Elbaum represents personal injury clients in New York City through the Law Offices of Brian J. Elbaum. In 1996, he opened his own practice in a setting quite different from its present West 39th Street office: his apartment, a sixth-floor walkup at East 37th Street and Third Avenue. His father, attorney David Elbaum, was of counsel to the young firm and assisted with several cases.

Elbaum’s education took him from Rutgers University, where he graduated in 1991, to Brooklyn Law School, where he earned his law degree in 1994. Before opening the firm, he worked for New York law firms on workers’ compensation and commercial litigation matters. Other positions included a judicial internship with a New York Supreme Court justice and an internship investigating exchange violations at the New York Stock Exchange. He also worked at an entertainment firm representing musicians. Outside those law-firm and internship roles, he held an insurance-company vice presidency that involved advisory services.

The firm now lists its office at 315 West 39th Street, Suite 1208. It advertises representation for construction accidents, apartment slip-and-fall injuries, premises liability and medical malpractice. In its published 2016 history, the firm also describes automobile accident, product liability, and bar and nightclub assault cases. That account identifies clients throughout New York City’s boroughs, as well as Long Island, upstate New York and New Jersey.
