Kathleen is an owner of Rockwell & Kaufman, L.L.C. She received a B.A. from the University of Alabama and is a 1996 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. Specializing in the areas of medical malpractice defense and construction litigation, her practice includes direct representation of nursing homes, physicians, contractors, architects and engineers. During her practice, Kathleen has handled numerous complex cases in the medical, construction and insurance fields. She continues to have a significant appellate practice, and has served as a member of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association Amicus Committee since 1998. Kathleen is a frequent speaker in the areas of litigation and management of medical and construction claims and has authored several articles on these topics. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association. Kathleen is a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy. She is licensed to practice before the State and Federal courts in Alabama and is an active member of both the Alabama Bar Association and the Mobile Bar Association, serving on numerous committees and panels within the Bar. Kathleen is active in her community and is a member of several civic organizations.

Kathryn Thompkins graduated from Auburn University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. She then went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Jones School of Law in 2013 and has been practicing law in Alabama since. Kathryn joined the firm as an associate attorney in December 2016. Her practice is primarily focused on family and domestic relations law, including divorce, post-divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, alimony, asset division, paternity and adoptions. Kathryn also handles personal injury and municipal court cases.

Ms. Kathy-Ann M Alexis is an attorney at The Alexis Firm, LLC., special judge, special prosecutor and mentor. Ms. Alexis was raised in New York City and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. After Ms. Alexis graduated college, she interned at the New York City Attorney General’s office in the Harlem division. She then moved to Birmingham, Alabama where she attended and completed law school at Birmingham School of Law. In 2009, Kathy was admitted to the Alabama State Bar. She decided to return to law school in 2012 to earn her LLM in International Tax and Finance with a concentration in Risk Management and Compliance. Ms. Alexis’ areas of practice include primarily criminal defense law, but she also practices Family Law and she is a Guardian Ad Litem for the state of Alabama. As of late, Ms. Alexis has completed training in Capital Murder defense trials. She is currently serving as the senior defense attorney at Midfield Municipal Court, where she also serves as Special Judge when asked by the Presiding Judge. In 2015, Kathy published her first book, The Anti-Husband, which is a story about the lessons that a single mother learns about surviving divorce and overcoming poverty.
