About Mariano
Mariano Morales, Jr. is a personal injury attorney in Yakima, Washington, and the founder of Mariano Morales Law. His practice focuses on people injured through the fault of others, including matters involving traumatic injuries and multiple potentially responsible parties. He established his own practice in 1994 after working as a prosecutor and as a trial lawyer at a personal injury firm.
Morales graduated from Grandview High School in 1976, attended the University of Washington, and earned a bachelor’s degree in forest management from Washington State University in 1982. During college summers, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service, including on hotshot firefighting crews. He later moved to the Washington, D.C., area to join the Society of American Foresters, where he became Resource Policy Director. Alongside that work, he pursued postgraduate studies in political science at George Washington University and attended night classes at Catholic University’s Columbus School of Law. He also held clerkships at several law firms.
After returning to Washington State, Morales worked at a corporate law firm in Spokane. He subsequently returned to the Forest Service, revising national forest plans in its Portland, Oregon, office before moving into prosecution in Yakima.
Outside his casework, Morales has sponsored public service announcements addressing children’s safety, including poison prevention, fire safety, water safety, and bicycle safety. His outreach has also included the “Arrive Alive” announcements promoting safe driving for people of all ages.
