She subsequently earned her law degree at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Her experience there included a law clerk internship with Judge John J. McDonald at Oakland County Circuit Court and an internship with the Michigan State Appellate Defender's Office. In law school, she participated in moot court and was involved in the Criminal Law Society, Women's Law Association, and Sports and Entertainment Law Society.
