Mr. Nelson has demonstrated extensive experience in casino regulatory compliance, gaming operations, and hotel operations. He has successfully represented clients before the Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada Gaming Commission, New Jersey Casino Control Commission, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, and other domestic and international jurisdictions. He has represented clients with respect to complex licensing issues. He has defended clients against disciplinary matters. He has represented clients in gaming and entertainment tax matters. Mr. Nelson has extensive experience in promotions, contingent prize events, and lottery issues. Mr. Nelson has obtained approvals for nightclub operations and marketing programs. He has negotiated and drafted agreements relating to the purchase and/or lease of slot machines and other gaming equipment. Mr. Nelson also has experience in the ever-changing world of internet gaming, social gaming, and mobile gaming. Mr. Nelson recently participated in a presentation on abandoned video games and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Mr. Nelson has represented many commercial clients in commercial transactions, real property transactions, buy/sell transactions, and private placement of securities. He has represented clients with respect to business formation matters in domestic and international jurisdictions. He has drafted and negotiated Operating Agreements, Shareholder Agreements, Management Contracts, and Employment contracts. He served as general counsel to subsidiaries responsible for branch office activities. He has negotiated and drafted retail leases, restaurant leases, licensing/franchise agreements, and other similar agreements. He also has considerable experience in representing a commercial client with land use matters, use permits, water rights, special assessment districts, and environmental issues. Mr. Nelson has represented commercial creditors in collection and bankruptcy matters. He has represented secured creditors and has obtained temporary restraining orders, preliminary injunctions, and receivership orders. His practice also includes insurance defense litigation.
