Sarah Van Cott began practicing law in Alamogordo, NM, at a small civil practice where she managed cases including wills and trusts, personal injury, landlord tenant and contract law.
In 2013, she began working as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting criminal cases for the State of New Mexico where she became involved in juvenile justice and advocating for children and families.
An alumni of UNM, NMSU and Onate High School, know known as Organ Mountain High School, she returned to Las Cruces, where she became commissioned as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Human Services Department, Child Support Enforcement Division.
Prior to graduating from law school in 2008, she served as an award-winning journalist and in-house counsel for many companies in San Diego, CA, where she met her husband and raised her children.
