Ruth Cate graduated from Law school at age 21 in 1976. She is considered to be one of the youngest graduates ever. She immediately moved to Spartanburg , SC and practiced Law here with Henderson, Lister, Couch, Brandt and Cate. After six years in General practice she left in 1983 to become Assistant General Counsel of Naegele Outdoor Advertising, at that time the largest privately owned billboard company in the US. She left there in 1986 to publish TravelHost magazines throughout South Carolina, Western North Carolina and Knoxville, TN. In 1995 she formed The Cate Law where she is the senior and managing partner. The firm exclusively practices family law. She is widely regarded by her peers, the judiciary and her clients as is shown by her long term A rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Education: University of South Carolina School of Law.
