Area of Practice: Elder Abuse

Lesley has been featured in Time magazine, People, Frontline, New York Times, the National Law Journal, The SacBee, and The Sacramento Business Journal for her groundbreaking work in the field of elder abuse.

A 1988 graduate of the San Diego School of Law, Lesley was thrust into elder abuse law when her great-aunt was abused and neglected at a residential care facility. Lesley successfully tried the case and got the facility’s license revoked.

Since that time, her practice has focused exclusively on representing victims of abuse and neglect in institutional settings. Lesley believes that by holding corporations accountable to their promises to care for the vulnerable and provide competent, humane care, we can improve care for everyone.

Lesley is the past chair of the American Association for Justice Nursing Home Litigation Group and has long been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell’s American Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. Lesley strongly believes in passing along the knowledge she has gained through her years as an advocate and educator. She teaches classes and seminars around the country and mentors young attorneys so they will be able to continue the important work of protecting our elders.

"Most people, myself included, have a preconceived perception regarding attorneys. I first heard about Lesley through a family member. I researched her and it was clear her past work as an attorney speaks for itself. However what truly impressed me was when we first met. I quickly realized she is truly an advocate for victims of elder abuse, inside and out of the courtroom. Her passion for fighting elder abuse was never more evident to me than when I first visited her office and she explained the backstory of a painting hanging on the wall of her office -- a painting by one of her former clients that she received as a token of appreciation. Lesley is more than just an attorney, she's an advocate. Thank you for everything!"
