Tampa Bay has consistently ranked in the top 10 best cities to start and grow a business (source) over the last year. With the startup scene heating up, skilled professionals are stepping in to support the growth. Founding Attorney of Harbour Business Law, Katelyn J. Dougherty, is one of them.
Katelyn Dougherty has a decade of experience in the legal industry. With an initial background in commercial real estate and land use, and extensive experience in corporate law, Katelyn’s main focus is entity formation, structuring and governance, contract drafting and negotiation, and intellectual property. Katelyn has a unique eye for business and marketing, which gives an added advantage to the clients of Harbour Business Law.
Originally from Maine, Katelyn moved to Tampa, FL, in late December of 2007 to attend the University of South Florida, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelors of Science in Criminology and Sociology. She later earned her Juris Doctorate from Barry University – Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law, while also working as an Advanced Certified Paralegal, Trademark Specialist, and Office Manager for former employer Hunter Business Law. Katelyn later became the Firm Administrator of Hunter Business Law and maintained dual roles as an Associate Attorney and Firm Administrator so as to maintain her love of both business and law.
During her legal career and her time in the dual roles while at Hunter Business Law, Katelyn developed a passion for helping others start and grow their businesses, ultimately making their dreams come true. That, combined with the years of encouragement to start her own law firm and the desire to build something to call her own, made the establishment of Harbour Business Law a natural evolution given her passion for entrepreneurial ventures and the legal industry.
When Katelyn isn’t busy working with her incredible clients, she enjoys horseback riding, reading, and traveling with her most recent adventures being in Maine, New York, and Honduras.
