Justin N. Lite was born and raised in West Islip, New York, where he attended public school, graduating from West Islip High School in 1978. Justin was awarded a regents scholarship and was a member of the honor society, the varsity football team, and was also a proud Captain of the varsity lacrosse team.
After high school, Justin attended Rensselear Polytechnic Institute on a lacrosse scholarship, where he majored in Engineering. He went on to be the team’s Captain, earned the honor of all-ECAC, and was the ECAC rookie of the year.
After college, Justin stayed in New York and attended St. John’s University School of Law, graduating in 1985. He was on the Dean’s List of Distinguished Students and participated in the mock court competition. While in law school, Justin earned the honor of clerking for Supreme Court Justice Daniel Luciano. After graduating, Justin returned to his hometown and proudly began working for his father, Joseph Lite, at the law firm of Joseph Lite, P.C. While working alongside his father, Justin honed his legal skills and was made partner in 1986. The firm changed it’s name to Lite & Lite, P.C., which evolved to become a veritable West Islip institution on Higbie Lane. Joseph Lite passed away in 1990, but the firm he began some 35 years prior, and to which he proudly added his son’s name, would continue to flourish. In 1994, Justin became partners with longtime family friend, Frank Russell, forming the law firm of Lite & Russell. Together, Frank and Justin built a marquee office building, just across the street from where Justin first practiced, on Higbie Lane, in West Islip. They have continued to grow, becoming a premier firm that has served their clients, and the community, with great success.
