About Jun
Jun Mizunuma is a Tokyo attorney at Matsuda & Mizunuma Law Office, based in Ginza. He established the office in 2012 after leaving Nakamura & Partners; the firm names him and Hiroshi Matsuda as its representatives. Intellectual property and international transactions appear among his listed practice areas, alongside company, labor and tax law and general civil matters.
A separate appointment connects Mizunuma with Nakamura Bansho Patent Office. As its legal advisor, he provides support for intellectual property litigation and general corporate legal affairs. His writing also concerns intellectual property: his bibliography lists contributions to Dai-Ichi Hoki publications on case law and the factual requirements of claims. Another entry is a collection of commentaries on doping arbitration decisions, part of a research project commissioned by Japan’s education ministry for fiscal 2010.
Mizunuma’s legal education began at Keio University, where he graduated from the law faculty in March 2001 and completed a master’s program in law in March 2003. Judicial training followed in April 2003. In October 2004, he completed that training, registered as an attorney with the Daini Tokyo Bar Association and joined Nakamura & Partners.
He later earned an LL.M. at Temple University’s law school in January 2010. His career chronology records three further milestones that year: passing the New York bar examination and registering as a Japanese patent attorney in April, then registering as a New York attorney in July.
