Charles M. Dalziel, Jr. is well suited now to begin his own practice, as he has 39 years total experience in the practice of law and 32 years being rated as an AV lawyer by Martindale Hubbell. While many veteran defense lawyers start their own firms with the decision to represent plaintiffs only in contingent fee cases, this is not my intent. While I am a member of the Multi Million Dollar Advocates Forum with one settlement reaching $11.4 million, I also have extensive experience as a defense lawyer and have been rated as one of Georgia’s Top 100 Civil Defense Lawyers and as one Of Georgia’s Top Rated Employment Lawyers since 2013. I am also a Georgia Super Lawyer, having first been granted that distinction in 2010. The core of my practice concerns non-compete, non-solicitation and non-disclosure agreements and trade secrets claims. “The work I do” includes almost every kind of civil litigation cases imaginable–commercial litigation, contract disputes, insurance coverage cases, catastrophic injury litigation especially involving truck wrecks, rate cases for regulated businesses such as insurance companies and telecommunications companies, securities litigation under the 1933 and 1934 Acts, business divorce, trademark fights, Lanham Act controversies, partnership disputes, corporate governance disputes, claims under state Trade Practice Statutes, and Libel and Slander litigation. My goal in the new practice is to continue at the forefront of restrictive covenant litigation, and also to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in other cases within my experience, sometimes under alternative fee arrangements, always with the assurance that the client gets a bargain even when I bill hourly. “The work I do I do” means I don’t downstream cases to new associates as a training exercise (or worse yet, as an effort to pile up my origination dollars by downstreaming work to less qualified associates– the client gets my work, done by someone of my credentials, with my track record of success. I am the chairman of the State Bar Audit Committee, the chairman of the Atlanta Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution section, and a member of the Atlanta Bar’s Board of Directors for its Litigation Section, and a member of the Georgia Bar’s Trade Secrets Committee.
