Ben was born in Washington D.C., but was educated in England before graduating from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management. Before starting Williams Intellectual Property, Ben worked for the USDA and the NRCS. Ben’s skill set comes through his extensive work in pedology: the morphology, genesis, and classification of soils, an applied science combining chemistry, biology, and physics, across complex systems and heterogeneous media. Ben started writing patents for attorneys at a high volume patent firm, learning patent law through hands-on, practical experience. Additionally, Ben has worked as an award-winning journalist and creative writer.
