About Alan

Alan Armstrong is a trial lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia, whose work includes aviation accidents, aircraft transactions and regulatory proceedings. For people injured in aviation accidents, and for survivors of those killed, he handles personal injury and wrongful death litigation. Aircraft damage and destruction are also subjects of his representation.

Not all of that work involves an accident. Armstrong represents airmen, aircraft operators and FAA-certified repair stations in enforcement proceedings before the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. On the transactional side, he prepares contracts, leases and closing documents for aircraft under FAA rules. He also assists individuals and organizations with aircraft leases and with time-share or interchange agreements permitted by those regulations.

Airport access is another area of his experience. Armstrong has worked on Part 16 proceedings concerning federally funded airports, where the allegations involve economic discrimination by airport owners or sponsors, or denial of fair and reasonable access to aviation operators.

His published work extends beyond individual cases: he has written more than one hundred aviation-law articles for journals and periodicals. Among the outlets that have published his articles are the Journal of Air Law and Commerce, Transportation Law Journal, Aviation Consumer and IFR Magazine. He has also served as editor of the National Transportation Safety Board Bar Association Newsletter.
