Michael J. O’Shea is the law director of Rocky River, Ohio; Lipson O’Shea Legal Group also identifies him as its principal and owner. Before joining the firm’s founding partner, Ronald Lipson, he maintained a solo practice. His work there included personal injury litigation, including lead-paint poisoning cases, as well as domestic relations and small-business litigation. DUI, OVI and traffic defense were a particular concentration of that practice’s criminal work. In its announcement about the 2025 Ohio & Kentucky Super Lawyers edition, the firm described his practice as encompassing DUI/DWI criminal defense, family law and personal injury.
His government experience includes service as a felony prosecutor in Cuyahoga County. As Rocky River’s law director, he heads the department responsible for advising the mayor, city council and municipal departments. Its responsibilities extend to reviewing legislation, contracts and other legal documents, and representing the city in court and administrative proceedings. The city lists municipal, common pleas and appellate court litigation among the department’s responsibilities.
O’Shea has also presented local continuing legal education programs addressing both DUI defense and prosecution.
