Christopher Schmitt

Christopher A. Schmitt is a family law attorney in Wooster, Ohio, with Schmitt Law, Ltd. His practice has been limited to family law since 2001. Divorce and dissolution are part of that work, alongside prenuptial agreements, adoption and establishing parentage. His biography also lists parental rights and responsibilities, grandparents’ rights, juvenile law, contempt of court and appeals.

Schmitt returned to Wooster in 1994 and worked as a Wayne County assistant prosecuting attorney and civil counsel for the Wayne County Children Service Board. That same year, he received his law degree from Capital University Law School and was admitted to the Ohio bar. Before law school, he completed undergraduate studies at Otterbein College in 1991. He graduated from Wooster High School in 1987.

Schmitt served as an acting judge at Wayne County Municipal Court from 2008 to 2012. He later chaired two Wayne County Bar Association committees: Juvenile Court in 2013 and Certified Grievance in 2014.

Outside his legal work, Schmitt served as a trustee of The Village Network from 2008 to 2012. He also coached travel soccer for the Wooster Edge Soccer Club between 2009 and 2015 and was president of the Wooster Soccer Association from 2013 to 2015.
