Gregory Hatcher

J. Gregory Hatcher is a family law attorney and managing partner of Hatcher Law Group in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a Board Certified Specialist in Family Law. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in 1990 and a law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1993.

Hatcher’s account of his career describes an initial interest in other areas of law before he took responsibility for family law cases while another attorney was on leave. His professional affiliations include the family law sections of the North Carolina Bar Association and Mecklenburg County Bar. His firm biography also lists former service as chair of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Ask A Lawyer Program Committee and as a board member of its Young Lawyers Division. It records his selection as a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2015.

His speaking and writing have addressed family law subjects. He spoke at the 2019 Family Law Specialists Conference in Kiawah, South Carolina, and wrote a 2018 Business North Carolina article about the end of the alimony tax deduction. An earlier presentation for a North Carolina Bar Association seminar addressed practical child support problems in 2002.
