Bryan C. Thompson, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is an attorney and partner at Robinson & Lawing, LLP. Estate administration and guardianship appear in both his private practice and his public appointments. Forsyth County appointed him public administrator in 2006, followed by Davie County in 2010. In those assignments, he provided estate administration and guardianship services when a court needed an independent person. His legal career includes a year as an associate with John R. Surratt, P.A., before he became a member of the firm named Surratt Thompson & Ceberio, PLLC. He joined Robinson & Lawing in 2023. Alongside elder law and estate planning, his work covers corporate and health care law. He also works with trusts and has represented clients before regulatory bodies and in state and federal courts. Thompson studied political science at Appalachian State University, earning his B.S. in 1995. His J.D. followed in 1999 at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. That was also the year of his North Carolina bar admission. In 2018, he earned a master’s in health care law and public policy at Wake Forest University School of Law. His guardianship-related service includes the 2013 DHHS Division of Aging and Adult Services Ad Hoc Guardianship Workgroup. He has also chaired the Salvation Army’s Winston-Salem advisory board and the governing board of Cardinal Innovations. Elder law, public health and governmental programs are among his presentation topics.
