About Alan
Alan M. Dubow is an attorney in White Plains and a partner at Robinowitz Cohlan Dubow & Doherty LLP. His practice includes matrimonial and family matters, complex commercial litigation, real estate disputes and business transactions.
Dubow joined the firm in 1986, having begun practicing law in 1981. His education preceded that start: he graduated from Binghamton in 1977 and Brooklyn Law School in 1980. The firm he joined had been founded in 1982 by Judge Seymour Robinowitz and Richard M. Cohlan.
Trials and appeals both figure in his work. He has conducted trials in New York City’s Supreme Courts and in the Supreme Courts of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange and Rockland counties. At the appellate level, he has argued cases in the First and Second Departments. His admissions also extend beyond New York state courts to the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
For matrimonial matters, Dubow’s background includes training as a mediator and collaborative attorney. His firm describes those approaches as alternatives to taking marital disputes to court, with the parties working together on their resolution. The professional memberships listed in his biography include the International Association of Collaborative Professionals and the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals. He is also listed as a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Westchester County Bar Association.
