About Franklin
Franklin S. Montero is the founder and managing attorney of The Law Offices of Franklin S. Montero in Clifton, New Jersey, and a municipal court judge in Bergenfield. The borough lists his office at 451 Clifton Avenue.
Before taking the bench in Bergenfield, Montero served the borough as both a public defender and a prosecutor. A January 2020 announcement of his judicial appointment describes those earlier positions and identifies him as Bergenfield’s first Latino municipal judge. He also clerked for Superior Court Judge R. Rosa.
Montero studied marketing at New York University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in May 1999. A master’s degree in computer science from Fordham University followed in 2003. He completed his legal education at Rutgers University School of Law in Newark, where he received his Juris Doctor in May 2010. New Jersey and New York both appear in his professional biography as 2011 bar admissions. The same biography lists participation in citizenship drives between 2016 and 2018 under pro bono activities.
His firm advertises services in personal injury, immigration, bankruptcy, real estate and estate planning. For immigration matters, it serves both individuals and companies nationwide. The firm’s real estate services cover home purchases, sales and foreclosures, along with closings and deed transfers. Its estate-planning offerings include wills, trusts and health care directives. People seeking to reorganize or eliminate debt are also among those the firm says it assists.
