Aileen Perez-Gjikova

Aileen Perez-Gjikova is the founding member and managing partner of The Law Offices of Perez & Bonomo, LLC in Hackensack, New Jersey, with a practice centered on bankruptcy and family law. She founded the firm in 2011 after working at Brunnock & Fleming, P.C. in Morristown. During her years there as a senior associate, from 2002 to 2011, she built its Chapter 7 bankruptcy practice and managed its New York caseload.

Perez-Gjikova studied social and behavioral sciences at Seton Hall University, earning her undergraduate degree cum laude. At CUNY Law School, she was an articles editor for the NYC Law Review and graduated in the top tenth of her class. Her earlier public-service positions included attorney work for the New York City Law Department and service as a public defender in Englewood Cliffs.

Today, her Chapter 7 clients include consumers and small business debtors. Tax returns, bank statements and property records are among the documents she reviews before preparing a filing. She also takes Chapter 7 cases for low-income debtors through Northeast New Jersey Legal Services as a volunteer.

Her family practice covers both contested and uncontested divorces, including representation at trial. Alongside divorce matters, she handles prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, paternity issues and grandparents’ rights. Custody arrangements and changes to support orders are also part of her work. Perez-Gjikova provides counsel in Spanish as well as English and conducts continuing legal education programs for attorneys.
