Mr. Schefman has been in your shoes, having survived near-critical injuries in motor vehicles and motorcycles. He has experienced severe injury, the confusion of insurance coverages, finding doctors to treat his injuries, delays in payments by insurance carriers, settlement, and the stress of the care and recovery for him and his family. That has been valuable experience that has influenced his understanding of your needs as a client. Let him help you. Mr. Schefman has received numerous professional recognitions, including 1998 Runner-up in Ernst & Young’s/Crain’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” in the formation, funding and growth of a venture capital-funded insurance company, 2014 & 2015 D-business and “Top Lawyer” designation, as well as dramatic success in breaking new ground in the application of the Medicare Secondary Payor Act. His roles as a founder of an insurance company, as its General Counsel, and as President and CEO, as a lobbyist, a member of the board of directors of a MCO/HMO and MCO trade association, and his representation of physicians and individuals in medical related matters, has given Mr. Schefman a keen insight into the inter-relationship of insurance coverage, injury, and payment that he is able to apply to the benefit of his clients. Whether you’re injured and need medical care or a doctor that has provided care that needs to be paid, Mr. Schefman is in your corner.

Justin Grove

Distinguished Lawyer

Personal Injury Law

36700 Woodward Avenue, 107, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48044

Justin Grove is a personal injury attorney at Grove & Associates in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. His firm biography describes work on behalf of individuals facing mortgage companies, insurers and the automotive industry. It also says he litigates personal injury cases himself rather than passing clients to junior associates or referring them to other lawyers. Former clients referring friends and relatives have supplied most of his business, according to that biography. Mortgage disputes are another part of Grove’s experience: the firm’s real estate page names him as having represented people against mortgage companies. That page covers foreclosure and loan modification, then turns to problems with home purchases, such as unreturned deposits and defects found after closing. The firm operates from Suite 107 at 36700 Woodward Avenue, its only office. Its crash clients come from Oakland County and elsewhere in Michigan. Auto injury and Michigan no-fault cases account for most of the firm’s work, with motorcycle, truck, rideshare, pedestrian and fatal crashes among the matters it lists. The practice also accepts claims involving dog bites and falls on another person’s property. For some cases outside auto injury, Grove & Associates works with another firm; it says clients are told about that arrangement before agreeing to representation. Meetings at the Bloomfield Hills office require an appointment. The firm also offers to meet elsewhere when someone cannot travel to the office, and says much of a no-fault claim can be handled by phone, mail and email.

Kurt Schultz

Personal Injury Law

843 Penniman Ave, Suite 201, Plymouth, MI 48170

My name is Kurt Schultz, and I am proud to say that I am a personal injury attorney. I take tremendous pleasure in my job because I get to help people. I went to college and law school at Wayne State University. While attending school I lived and worked in Detroit city. I paid for my own education by bartending and waiting tables. Nothing was handed to me. I earned it. And that is how I approach my law practice. I put the time in, work hard and earn it every single day. This area of law has been my passion and primary focus for well over a decade. At the risk of boasting, I have had a more fair amount of success in that time. At one point I had a number of associate attorneys, and endeavored to hire more lawyers, seeking to become a "large law firm." And then I had an Epiphany. When I used to imagine being a lawyer (yes, when I was young I wanted to be a lawyer, not a fireman!), it wasn't the large executive boardroom table, complete with high back leather chairs, filled with a bunch of tailored suits. it was me helping somebody. That is what I imagined. That is why I went to law school. I went to be a lawyer, not a businessman. I helped associates find their own ways/callings. And in a short period of time my passion returned. I could also become more particular about who I represented since I did not have to support and manage a bunch of lawyers!? Schultz in a starwars family photoSee I want to be the person who calls you to discuss what is going on with your case and answer your questions. Not my paralegal, me. I want to come to your house and meet with you if you are unable to come to my office. Not some "associate attorney", private investigator or Runner, paid by the firm, me! I want to go to court on your behalf, sit next to you during depositions and help you accomplish our goals, to see you get the redress you deserve. Not an associate attorney, me. It was that epiphany that proved to me the time-honored adage “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life”. I realized that it was not about how many attorneys I had working, it was quality of the work performed. And its not about how many clients a firm has, it’s about how well the firm does for their clients! Contrary to what many people believe, it is all about integrity. That is why I have chosen to maintain a small law firm. So I can actually be a lawyer and help people, all while maintaining my integrity. The results I achieve for my clients are as good as or better than any “Big Box” firm out there. The vast majority of my current clients were referred to me by my former clients. That fact makes me feel very good. I take pride in that. I take pride in the fact that I have held onto some "blue collar" even though my collar is white these days. I choose to talk with my clients, not down to them. I choose to own American cars, not fancy imports. I take pride in these things. A hard day’s work still means something. Truth be told I cannot guarantee you that I will recover a million dollars for you. Or even a hundred Schultz family posing with Chewbaccathousand! Remember this, if any attorney ever says that, without having spent some hours looking into the matter (determining if there is an insurer involved, investigating the facts and individuals involved, understanding your injuries fully, and at minimum determining insurance policy limits), you will know immediately that you are being lied to. No honest attorney can make such a "guarantee," and any attorney who does is simply telling you what you want to hear in order for you to retain him/her. All I can guarantee is that when you retain my firm, your attorney will know who you are. Just as importantly, you will know your lawyer. That I work for my clients. I mean that literally and figuratively. I will Not only "work hard" for you, but in representing you I quite literally "work for you." Seems like these days many attorneys forget who works for whom. Not me. I also pledge brutal honesty, timely communication and tireless effort.

Matthew Bedikian practices personal injury law at Michigan Advocacy Center, PLLC, in Southfield, Michigan. His Michigan bar admission dates to November 1, 2011; the State Bar lists him under his full name, Matthew Edward Bedikian, as an active member in good standing. Business was an early possibility for Bedikian, who grew up in Michigan and chose business and pre-law at Michigan State University. In his account of those undergraduate years, he credits his pre-law classes with turning his attention toward a legal career. He graduated in 2007. His next school was the University of Detroit Mercy, where he earned a J.D. and MBA in 2011. With his law license in hand, Bedikian joined a local firm and spent the next three years representing people in injury cases. He later left to establish Michigan Advocacy Center. Managing his own caseload was one reason he gave for starting the practice; personal injury was its intended focus from the outset. The firm’s listed practice areas include car and motorcycle accidents, slip-and-fall cases, wrongful death, dog bites and medical malpractice. These are the firm’s advertised services, rather than a separate account of Bedikian’s case history.
