Damon Kirin

Damon Kirin is identified by Kirin Law Firm in Metairie, Louisiana, as its attorney and managing member. He founded the firm in 2017, following an earlier partnership with Robert Diliberto. His firm biography lists toxic tort and oil and gas litigation, insurance claims, defective drug claims, personal injury and complex litigation as areas of focus.

Before establishing those firms, Kirin worked on both sides of civil disputes. Tulane Law School’s account of his career describes representation of injured plaintiffs as well as insurance companies and other corporate defendants. That work included environmental law, toxic tort litigation, insurance claims and serious personal injuries.

His education began at the University of Michigan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction from the School of Natural Resources and Environment. At Tulane, he completed both his law degree and an environmental law certificate, graduating cum laude in 1996. He then spent a year in a judicial clerkship before joining a small New Orleans defense firm. Contracts and medical malpractice were among the matters he handled there, alongside insurance defense, toxic torts and personal injury.

Murray Law Firm brought Kirin on as an associate in 2000; his work there included oil and gas law and complex litigation. In 2005, he and Robert Diliberto established Diliberto & Kirin. Beyond his casework, Kirin has written Louisiana Bar Journal notes on toxic tort litigation and environmental insurance law. Tulane also credits him with serving as a moderator and panelist at Louisiana continuing education symposiums on environmental law and toxic tort litigation.
