Jennifer Zang

Jennifer L. Zang is an attorney with Maatuka Al-Heeti Emkes LLC in Champaign, Illinois. Her practice focuses on family law, workers’ compensation, employment law and litigation, and the firm describes her work as representing individuals and employees.

Zang’s legal background includes work as both a legal assistant and a title searcher. Before attending law school, she worked in title searching and received recognition as a top producer from Attorney’s Title and Guaranty Fund Inc. She also earned a certificate in paralegal studies from Illinois State University.

She received an A.A. from Heartland Community College in 2004. She subsequently earned a bachelor’s degree at Illinois State University, studying politics and government as her major and legal studies as her minor. In 2015, she completed her J.D. at the University of Illinois College of Law. While in law school, she worked with the Illinois Innocence Project on behalf of people who had been wrongfully incarcerated. Her law-school activities also included the Frederick Green Moot Court Competition and the Family Advocacy Clinic.

Outside her legal work, Zang founded the Champaign-Urbana Lost Dog page to help reunite missing dogs with their owners. Her community service includes support for animal rescue efforts and mental health awareness. Super Lawyers selected her to its Rising Stars list for 2025 and 2026.
