Terry obtained an Associates Degree from Sauk Valley Community College where he was on a basketball scholarship. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University and his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. After completing his studies at SIU School of Law, he began his legal career working for the Missouri State Public Defender's Office in Buffalo, Missouri. During the two year period, he worked for the State of Missouri, he defended both misdemeanor and felony defendants and tried his first cases. He then entered private practice in Springfield, Missouri working for a successful civil litigation law firm which primarily represented personal injury, workers compensation, and medical malpractice claimants. There he did trial and appellate work, including arguing his first case before the Southern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Illinois and Missouri State Bar Associations.

Thomas Sanner is an experienced attorney with a diverse legal background in civil law. Now, Thomas focuses his practice on family law to meet the needs of clients in the Central Illinois area through assertive representation and personal attention. Thomas has gained valuable experience and perspective in the litigation of family law matters. Thomas is a strong advocate for children and their best interests. In addition to serving the needs of clients, he is also often appointed as a GAL to serve the interests of children. Thomas was born and raised in Decatur, Illinois. After graduating high school, Thomas earned his bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. After obtaining his Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law Thomas returned to the Central Illinois area to practice law. Thomas takes a personal interest in his clients’ legal needs and advocates strongly to ensure their voices are heard. Todd is the Senior Partner and Equity Shareholder of the law firm of Kanoski Bresney. He took over operations in January 2018 after his partner and firm founder, Ron Kanoski, retired. He is also the Senior Trial Attorney who manages the complex litigation division. Todd is married and has three children, which he proudly devotes 100% of his time to when he is not working.
