About Zascha

Zascha Blanco Abbott represents employers in labor and employment matters as a partner at Kaufman Dolowich in Fort Lauderdale. Her work includes both litigation and advice on workplace policies and practices.

An employment dispute may take her before an administrative agency as well as into court: she represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Relations. In litigation, her management-side work includes class actions, wage and hour disputes, and claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Contract disputes and non-compete agreements are also part of her practice. She defends claims brought under Title VII, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Other matters in her background concern access to websites and physical premises, whistleblower claims, and retaliation involving workers’ compensation. She has also handled constitutional claims concerning the First Amendment and Equal Protection Clause. Outside litigation, employers turn to her for workplace audits, training and the development of employment policies.

Abbott previously worked in municipal government as an Assistant City Attorney for Miami, representing city departments in labor and employment matters. She earned her law degree at Nova Southeastern University and holds a B.B.A. from Florida International University. Her firm lists Spanish proficiency. The Florida Bar records her as a member in good standing and eligible to practice law in the state.
