About Monique
Monique K. Pope is a Miami Beach attorney whose principal practice is family law. She opened the Law Offices of Monique K. Pope, P.A., in 2022, after working on creditors’ rights litigation at Andreu, Palma, Lavin & Solis. Her own practice also includes creditors’ rights cases, civil litigation and guardian ad litem matters. Florida Bar records identify her as a member in good standing and eligible to practice law in the state.
Before entering legal practice, Pope worked in New York finance. Her positions included trading and research analyst at SAB Capital and institutional equities trader at Cantor Fitzgerald, where she managed accounts for institutional investors, specifically hedge funds. A later position took her to the Client Partner Group at KKR, before her move to South Florida.
Her education preceded that financial-services work: a history degree from the University of Florida in 2003, earned magna cum laude, followed by a UCLA law degree in 2009. At UCLA, she received an Entertainment, Sports & Media designation. After graduation, she completed a legal externship with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Children’s issues figure in Pope’s committee service. The Florida Bar lists her on its Legal Needs of Children Committee, with a term ending June 30, 2027. Her firm biography also identifies service on the Family Law Section’s Children’s Issues and Special Needs Children committees. Outside the bar, she served as co-chair of the Nicklaus Children’s Young Ambassadors Leadership Board; 2024 was her third and final term.
