About Michael
Michael Camilleri is an attorney and Boca Raton resident who is of counsel to Gonzales Taplin, P.A. His education includes a bachelor of arts from Long Island University and a law degree from Fordham Law School in New York. The firm describes his employment-law experience as spanning several decades.
Insurance management and consulting also feature in his professional background. His firm profile lists him as president and chief executive officer of American Financial Security Life Insurance Company, a position it dates to 2009, and as a principal of Matrix Consulting, LLC, an insurance consulting company. Before those positions, he spent four years leading Clear Spring Property and Casualty Lackawanna Insurance Group as president and chief executive officer.
Outside those executive roles, Camilleri has contributed to legislation in six states. His published articles cover healthcare and workers’ compensation, and he has spoken about health-related issues and workers’ compensation at conferences around the country. He was also a founding board member of the American Association of Workers Compensation Professionals.
Gonzales Taplin concentrates exclusively on insurance regulatory law. The firm serves insurers and insurance intermediaries, including agents, brokers, third-party administrators and managing general agents, as well as program managers, insurance technology businesses and start-ups. Its stated services include advice on transactions, enforcement actions, market conduct, compliance and governance; these are firm-wide practice descriptions rather than a list of Camilleri’s individual assignments.
