About Mary
Mary Beth Kelly is an estate planning, probate and guardianship attorney in Lake Mary, Florida, where she founded The Law Office of Mary Beth Kelly, LLC in 2017. Her work includes both planning for a person’s future care and administering an estate after a death. She prepares wills, trusts, powers of attorney and living wills, and assists with long-term care planning. One part of her health care surrogate work concerns parents who want to be designated to act for their children as they turn 18. Special needs planning and Medicaid assistance are also among her stated practice areas.
Kelly’s first law-office job was in Orlando, as a legal secretary just out of high school. Law school came after a much longer stretch of work: she spent 25 years as a legal assistant and then a paralegal while bringing up two children. At the University of Central Florida, she studied legal studies, completing her B.S. with honors in 1999. Her J.D. followed in 2010 at Barry University School of Law in Orlando, the same year she was admitted to the Florida bar.
Outside her legal work, Kelly spent several years on the board of Safehouse of Seminole. She held its presidency in 2015 and 2016, before opening her own law office. Her community involvement has also included the Rotary Club of Lake Mary, of which she and her husband, Joe, are former members.
