Chad Van Horn

Chad Van Horn is a bankruptcy attorney in Fort Lauderdale and a founding partner of Van Horn Law Group, P.A. His practice includes personal and corporate bankruptcy, student loan debt, consumer law, foreclosure defense and loan modification. The Florida Bar lists him under his full name, Chad Thomas Van Horn, as eligible to practice and in good standing.

Two of his books address debt outside the courtroom. In “Everything You Need To Know About Bankruptcy in Florida,” Van Horn outlines bankruptcy options for people facing debt. “The Debt Life” takes a different form, using true stories to describe ways of dealing with debt. His firm biography also describes volunteer legal work for veterans through Mission United and a mentoring relationship through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County that began in 2012.

Van Horn studied marketing at Robert Morris University, earning a bachelor's degree with a concentration in entrepreneurship in 2005. That year he moved to South Florida, where he worked as a bankruptcy law clerk and attended law school at night. He completed his J.D. at Nova Southeastern University in 2009; his classmates elected him their graduating class speaker. Florida admitted him to the bar on April 14 of that year.

His bankruptcy qualifications include American Board of Certification credentials in business bankruptcy law and consumer bankruptcy law. His firm biography dates those certifications to October 2017 and March 2019, respectively, and both are listed in his Florida Bar profile.
