Chad Cummings

Chad D. Cummings is an attorney and certified public accountant with Cummings & Cummings Law in Bonita Springs, Florida, where he serves as founding attorney and chief executive officer. His practice serves small and medium-sized businesses and their owners, from forming a venture through its operation, growth and eventual exit.

Accounting came before law. Cummings began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Dallas, working in tax compliance and consulting for private equity and financial services clients. His work there included technical solutions for clients with multistate corporate and pass-through investment structures. He also co-founded Food on the Fly, a startup that used mobile technology and logistics to deliver meals to travelers inside airport terminals. At American Airlines headquarters in Fort Worth, he later supported financial reporting and capital investment decisions for the airline’s commercial real estate and legal divisions.

His degrees from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business are in accounting and taxation: a B.B.A. and an M.S., respectively. He earned his J.D., cum laude, at Ave Maria School of Law and completed an LL.M. in Real Property Development at the University of Miami. During law school, he sat on the Law Review Editorial Board; his paper, “Transhumanism: Morality and Law at the Frontier of the Human Condition,” was selected for publication in the school’s journal.

Cummings also teaches undergraduate business law at Florida Gulf Coast University. The Florida Bar lists him as eligible to practice and a member in good standing.
