Shyama S. Parikh the owner of Shyama S. Parikh, PC and has almost exclusively practiced Family law her entire career. She has successfully represented families in Divorce cases, Parenting time issues, Adoptions, Child Support matters as well as many other family law issues. THOMAS P. PARRINO is a partner and co-founder of PARRINO|SHATTUCK, PC. Considered a top attorney in his field, he covers all areas of family law in his practice, including divorce, property division, child support, child custody, and alimony. He has handled some of the most complicated and high-asset family law litigation in Connecticut during his more than 25 years of practicing family law. Parrino is a dynamic negotiator and litigator, and was named “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers based on peer review in 2013. Parrino is admitted to practice in the State of Connecticut and the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut. He is a fellow and past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He chairs the chapter’s Rules (O’Brien), Sunbury, and Arbitration committees; serves on the Amicus Committee; and formerly served on the Examining Committee. He is also a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. Parrino recently served as a delegate to the National Board of Governors of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Previously, he was a member of the National Test Subcommittee and the chair of the National Admissions Committee. He is also a member of the American, Connecticut, and Fairfield County bar associations, as well as the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, Parrino is a member of Connecticut’s Family Law Commission, which comprises Connecticut superior court judges and select attorneys who have been invited to serve as members. The commission examines Connecticut’s Rules of Court, decisional law, and legislation that apply to family law, and develops proposed reforms and new initiatives designed to improve family law in the state. Parrino co-authored a chapter in the book, Family Law Jurisdictional Comparisons, Second Edition 2013, that was published by European Lawyer/Thomson Reuters. This book was born out of the increasing importance of international family law and the need for an authoritative guide to family law in key jurisdictions around the world. These jurisdictions consist of 37 countries and six U.S. states. Parrino addressed about topics that exemplify Connecticut family law, including pre- and post-nuptial agreements, surrogacy and adoption, property, finances/capital, child maintenance, financial relief after foreign divorce proceedings, and civil partnership/same-sex marriage, among others. Parrino has been a prominent lecturer on family law matters during his distinguished career. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and his juris doctor degree from the University of Bridgeport, and attended law school at the Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Attorney Rex Lee Patterson is an experienced family law practitioner and civil litigator. Rex has over 11 years of experience practicing law in several areas of civil litigation, including: family law, divorce, adoption, guardianship, child custody, grandparent’s rights, personal injury, wrongful death, tort claims, estate litigation, will contests, real estate litigation, quiet title actions, business litigation, bankruptcy, collections, small claims, and other areas of civil practice. Rex also handles select criminal cases. Rex practices all over Northeast Indiana, including but not limited Adams County, Allen County, Wells Count, LaGrange County, Steuben County, Elkhart County, Noble County, Whitley County, DeKalb County, and Huntington County. Rex recently received his Certified Family Law Specialist designation from the Family Law Certification Board. This was a significant accomplishment as there are only approximately 70 attorneys in the state of Indiana with this designation. Rex has won hundreds of family law trials. Rex believes his profession is a calling. Rex grew up in Adams County, Indiana and graduated from Bellmont High School. His first job out of law school was at a law firm in LaGrange, Indiana. He worked there as an Associate for 3.5 years before establishing his own law firm, Patterson Law LLC in 2012. Patterson Law LLC originated in Noble County and thrived there for 7 years, before recently relocating to the north side of Fort Wayne, Indiana at our current address. A native of New Caledonia, Morghân joined Véronique Chauveau & Associés in 2019 before becoming a partner in 2022. She has, among other things, worked in the Office of European Union Law, Private International Law and Mutual Assistance in Civil Matters of the French Ministry of Justice. This office is the French Central Authority for the Hague Convention of 25 October 1980 on the international wrongful removal of children. She has also participated in the negotiation of European regulations and international family mediation. These experiences have enabled her to acquire expertise in both private international family law and French family law. Morghân is a graduate of the University Montesquieu - Bordeaux IV (Master I in general private law and Master II in international and European law). She provides training in private international law to professionals.
