Marshall A. Lerner is the managing partner of the law firm of Kleinberg & Lerner, LLP, and has been with the firm since its inception in 1985. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering cum laude from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1962. He obtained his Juris Doctor with Honors from George Washington University in 1965, and has been practicing in the area of intellectual property law since 1965. He was previously an examiner in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and a patent advisor to the Office of Naval Research. Mr. Lerner is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, Federal Circuit Court of Appeal, the District of Columbia and California bars. Mr. Lerner’s practice area is patent, trademark and copyright infringement litigation, counseling and U.S. and foreign patent and trademark applications. Mr. Lerner has lectured in the area of intellectual property at Harvard University, Division of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Anderson Graduate School of Management UCLA, and the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California. Mr. Lerner has conducted workshops in advertising injury and risk management of intellectual property claims for the Insurance Education Association of California. Mr. Lerner works in all areas of intellectual property law, including: patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, internet-related law and unfair competition.

Gregory J. Lesak, Jr., special counsel at Jimerson Birr, focuses on having a deep understanding of the underlying business and specific needs of his clients. Over the years, he has developed a unique perspective for assisting clients, gained from significant experience as a transactional attorney, a litigation attorney, and as in-house counsel for a large publicly traded company. Renée Simon Lesser specializes in personal injury and property damage claims, insurance defense and coverage litigation, and product liability and toxic tort litigation. She has tried jury and bench trials in state and federal court and has argued appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First and Second Departments. For two decades, Renée has successfully defended churches, synagogues, schools, nursing homes, non-profit entities, as well as large and small businesses and individuals throughout New York State. Most of these cases involve allegations of personal injury, property damage or economic loss resulting from premises defects, sports related injuries, labor law claims, assaults, sexual misconduct, negligent supervision, and building design and maintenance claims. Renée has also secured significant awards for plaintiffs in personal injury cases, including a $4.5 million judgment obtained after trial and appeal against a property owner resulting from the rape and sexual assault of a tenant. Her representation of plaintiffs and defendants has given her a unique insight into the successful resolution of personal injury, wrongful death and product liability claims.
