Family law has always stood out to Cloie Chapman as an important area of the law because it requires compassion and a greater understanding of systemic issues such as race, gender, and relationships. Cloie has always been passionate about addressing social issues and family law is a great opportunity for her to connect with clients and advocate for them. This passion first developed when Cloie worked for Planned Parenthood in high school as a sexual health educator and learned about healthy relationship building. She earned her BA from Western Washington University, creating her own interdisciplinary major in environmental policy and ethnic studies. Cloie continued to work for non-profit organizations throughout college and law school, including Disability Rights Washington and ACLU of Washington. Each of these experiences has deepened her empathy for others and allowed her to understand how systemic issues relate to personal conflicts. After graduating from Seattle University School of Law, Cloie Chapman was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in 2020. She then started her own firm and represented clients in Seattle on issues including protection orders and contracts. She also supported criminal defense attorneys representing Black Lives Matter protestors. In 2021 Cloie clerked for Washington State Supreme Court Justice Mary I. Yu and stayed at the court for another few months to work as a staff attorney in the Commissioner’s Office. During her time at the court Cloie was able to sharpen her research skills by diving into a variety of legal topics. Cloie grew up in Issaquah, Washington and has lived in Seattle, Bellingham, and Olympia. She now lives in Lynnwood with her husband and three cats. Cloie spends her free time listening to podcasts, playing video games, and thinking of new home renovation projects.

Cory is actively involved in the legal community, participating in several non-profit organizations including volunteering with the Arizona Stealing Hearts Rescue–a large breed dog rescue.

Courtney H. Carpenter provides representation in all matters of family law and is passionate about helping clients find the best resolution possible based on their individual goals. The litigation process can be complicated and emotional, and Ms. Carpenter works with each client to help them navigate their options to make informed decisions throughout their case. Ms. Carpenter earned a Bachelor of Science with a major in political science, a certification in professional politics, and a minor in international affairs, graduating magna cum laude from Kennesaw State University in 2006. Thereafter, Ms. Carpenter earned a Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2010. During her time at Emory, she volunteered with Student Legal Services and was a participant in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society. Craig A. Darling, Esq., is a Family Law Trial Attorney with more than 17 years of litigation experience and is proficient in all family law matters. Mr. Darling has substantial experience with Family Law Appeals having prepared or assisted in the preparation of numerous Writs and Appellate briefs and argued over a dozen cases before the California Court of Appeal, 4th District, Division 3. As an attorney, Mr. Darling previously volunteered for the Parking Lot Justice Program with Saddleback Church located in Lake Forest, California. This volunteer opportunity presents California-licensed attorneys to meet one-on-one to answer questions related to various areas of law including California Family Law. Mr. Darling worked closely with the Wings for Justice 403(b) Non-Profit Organization, representing underprivileged women and mothers victimized by Domestic Violence. Darling also has Appellate Litigation experience where he Argued 10 Writs or Appeals before the California Court of Appeal, 4th District, Division 3. During law school, Mr. Darling worked as a Research Assistant for the Honorable James N. Barr, Federal Bankruptcy Judge, United States Bankruptcy Court, Santa Ana, California. This research focused primarily on the potential conflict of in re Gruntz (9th Circuit) 202 F.3d 1074, and the “Rooker-Feldman ” Doctrine. Darling also interned with the Orange County Public Defender’s Office, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach, California, conducting legal research, interviewing clients, and drafting motions to suppress under California Penal Code Section 1538.5.
