About Spencer
Spencer T. Sallander, a Los Angeles attorney at Haight, Brown & Bonesteel LLP, represents defendants in civil litigation. Premises liability, vehicle accidents involving trucking and transportation, destructive fires and product defects make up the principal subjects of his defense work. His clients range from individuals to Fortune 500 companies; they also include retailers, hospitality businesses, product manufacturers and regional transportation companies.
Before Haight, Sallander worked on both sides of litigation. At a boutique firm, he represented plaintiffs as well as defendants in disputes involving employment, construction, real estate and corporate matters. Haight announced his arrival in its Los Angeles office on October 13, 2025. He belongs to four of its practice groups: Transportation Law, Fire Litigation, Product Liability and Business Solutions.
Real estate is also the subject of his writing on the GPS&L website. In an article about Burnett v. National Association of Realtors, Sallander examined who might bear the cost of buyers’ agents if sellers stopped paying their commissions. He discussed the possibility that buyers would finance those fees separately, increasing their borrowing costs.
Sallander’s education took him from the University of Oregon to Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he earned his JD in 2021. At Loyola, he was Hospitality Law group treasurer and participated in the Real Estate Law Society. His commercial law studies earned him the Lloyd Tevis Graduate Award. California admitted him to the bar on December 1, 2021; his State Bar profile lists his license as active.
